- A couple of Korean casters even played a showmatch game using the graphics pack before the finals which you can watch here. 'Starcrafts' is a long-running YouTube series based on Starcraft 2 (later included Brood War) which you can watch from the beginning here. There was even a Starcraft 2 arcade map that converted all the assets to Carbot.
- So I read the title wrong and thought someone had ripped the brood war sprites and ported them into an SC2 custom game. Which makes me wonder, if Carbot and his team can make a 2d version of Starcraft 2 in the Sc2 engine, would it be possible to do the same thing with the Brood War sprites and run them in the already existing brood war Sc2 mod?

Way back in 2015, the creators behind the popular StarCrafts animated web series managed to raise $100,000 to create a cartoon mod for StarCraft 2, transforming the game to look exactly like the cartoon series. The mod was limited and only available through Arcade Mode but a much more comprehensive overhaul is now coming to StarCraft Remastered.

Blizzard re-launched StarCraft 1 last year in remastered form, bringing the classic RTS up to date for modern machines. Now, Blizzard has officially partnered up with CarBot Animations, the group behind the StarCrafts series on YouTube. Together, they will be releasing an official graphics pack that will overhaul the entire game, rather than just one or two select maps.
The graphics pack has been in the works for over a year and transforms all assets and in-game cut scenes, giving fans to embrace the sillier side of StarCraft properly this time around.
The StarCraft Cartooned graphics pack for StarCraft Remastered has launched today with a £9/$10 price tag, which is on the steeper end of things but by the looks of it, a lot of work did go into this. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we will be getting a similar official graphics pack for StarCraft 2, mainly due to the extra number of assets, maps and the entirely different engine used for SC 2.
KitGuru Says: I’m really glad Blizzard decided to team up with CarBot to release something official this time around, although it is a shame that StarCraft 2 won’t be getting the same treatment. Did any of you play the original mod? Will you be getting the graphics pack for StarCraft Remastered?
StarCraft: Remastered is a 2017 remastered edition of the 1998 real-time strategy video game StarCraft and its expansion Brood War. It retains the gameplay of the original games but adds remastered ultra-high-definition graphics, re-recorded audio, and Blizzard’s modern online feature suite. The remaster was developed over a year and included playtesting from professional StarCraft players. It is planned for release in second quarter, 2017.
StarCraft: Remastered retains the gameplay of the original, but updates its graphics and sound.[1] Its remastered graphics support up to 4K ultra-high-definition resolution, and its original soundtrack and sound effects are re-recorded.[2] Its online features are updated to support Blizzard’s modern suite, including improved multiplayer matchmaking, social integration with other Blizzard games, and saved settings on Blizzard’s cloud computers such that player campaign progress, replays, custom maps, and keybindings are synced wherever the player opens the game.[1][2] Players can pair their online accounts from the original game with Blizzard’s modern online accounts to continue their win/loss statistics into the remaster.[3] Additionally, players can switch between the original and new graphics[3] and view new zoomed perspectives for players to appreciate the remaster’s new level of detail. It is translated into 13 languages.[2] Iswift 4 2. Reel steel games online.
