Fallout 4 Sim Settlements Mod allows you to make Fallout 4 a bit more realistic when it comes to how the settlements are handled by making it possible for NPCs to live independent lives and build things without your input. Hence, the goal of the mod is to make the settlements feel more like the towns from Sim City, which means that you can create special zones and watch the NPCs erect buildings as they see fit.

These zones have multiple purposes, and it's fairly easy to select the desired one and place it on the ground. Whether you want residential, farming, commercial or industrial zones, the AI takes the zone type into consideration and builds the settlement according to your specifications, which is a lot more engaging than placing every structure yourself.

To make things even more interesting, the NPCs living in your settlements are also designed to act on their own after the buildings are completed. Hence, you no longer have to give everyone special orders and assign them activities, since they do all that by themselves, much like in a city sim. In fact, they even have hobbies and special interests, so it always feel nice to visit one of your settlements and meet your people.

Many aspects are randomized every time you come back around, so the people might act differently or be engaged in various activities. It is also possible to upgrade structures multiple times and take advantage of the increased resource yield where that's feasible. New buildings have been added as well, so you do not have to limit yourself to the ones included with Fallout 4 by default.

In order to install the Sim Settlements mod, all you have to do is extract the contents of the archive into your data folder, provided you have already enabled custom modes from your .INI file beforehand.
